"As of January 12, 2015, USCIS had approved approximately 617 regional centers. Regional centers can operate in multiple states, the entries below DO NOT represent distinct regional centers."
The USCIS site lists 820 entries, which indicates that many of the 617 centers operate in multiple states.
As of 02/01/2016, there are 799 approved regional centers in the United States.
Over a thousand now.
