Alleged EB-5 Fraudster's Associates Fight State Claims
Three individuals who intervened in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission suit over an EB-5 visa fraud scheme challenged a bid by the alleged fraudster's receiver to sue them in California state court for their purported participation in the scheme, arguing that the receiver has no jurisdiction. Clement Chin, Kevin Shimamoto, and Jeniffer Bronson entered the fray in the SEC's suit against businessman Thomas M. Henderson and his companies in July 2018.
