Project Description

The facility will provide proton beam radiation therapy to patients from Southern California, Latin America, and Southern China.

Montebello is situated near the center of the Los Angeles metropolitan complex, yet remains separate from the city. It is conveniently located in proximity to freeways and the three major airports serving Southern California.

Located in the city of Montebello in the Greater Los Angeles area, BEVERLY PROTON CENTER will bring a new standard of cancer treatment to local communities, as well as patients in Latin America and China, through the state-or-the-art and proven technology of proton beam radiation therapy.

In addition to leading cancer treatment, the BEVERLY PROTON CENTER will provide Montebello and surrounding communities with significant employment opportunities for skilled labor and new high-paying permanent positions, both during construction and after regular operations begin.

The future site for the BEVERLY PROTON CENTER has been approved by the City of Montebello, adding assurance that the project will move forward with construction and operation. CITIC, one of the world's leading project development and construction groups, has also guaranteed project completion, furthering project security.

Montebello provides an ideal setting for a proton beam therapy center. An estimated 33 million people will be living in the Southern California market area by 2014, the first full year of planned operation. The BEVERLY PROTON CENTER's marketing plan, based in part on successful approaches currently in use at the Loma Linda facility, is designed to reach patients, doctors, and other decision-influencers with a range of message and media types.
