Seminar of EB-5 to North Carolina State University

Talley Student Union 2610 Cates Ave, Raleigh, NC 27606, Raleigh, US
04/11/2019 12:00PM - 1:30PM (Eastern Daylight Time)

In this presentation, we will cover the following main topics that are listed in this slide.

  1. First, we will talk about what EB-5 is, and why is it relevant to a foreign student in an American college.
  2. We will then touch upon the reason why EB-5 might be a better choice for most students than other nonimmigrant visas such as H-1B or E-2.
  3. We will then explain how a student could obtain the necessary funds for the required EB-5 investment amount.
  4. We will also discuss some of the most important selection criteria to pick an EB-5 project. Many people wonder if the location of the EB-5 project matters in terms of the ultimate place they would like to be working and living.
  5. We will then give an overview of the timeline for the whole EB-5 process from beginning till the end. Many of you will most likely apply as a dependent of your parents. When parents hear about obtaining a green card they are oftentimes alarmed regarding global income taxation of being a US citizen or a green card holder. They wonder whether that means that they will have to pay tax twice, once in their home country and then again in the US. We will hopefully diffuse all of these concerns.
  6. We will discuss the meaning of retrogression. How does it occur? Which countries are subject to it at the moment?
  7. Lastly, we will discuss the optimal timing to apply for the EB-5. We will touch upon the best time to start thinking about applying for it. We will also let you know the best way to get in touch with us!
