Robert W. Kraft, Chairman and CEO of FirstPathway Partners, was recently published in the first edition of Trade and Investment in America: The EB-5 Gateway. His two page article, entitled “EB-5 History and Opportunity” reviews the transformative history of the EB-5 program and looks optimistically toward the future.
The article highlights the opportunity congress provided through creation of the EB-5 program in 1990, in an effort to encourage more robust foreign investment in the United States. Kraft goes on to say that “After just under 20 years in existence, in 2012 the word “pilot” was struck from the name of the Regional Center Program honoring the program’s lengthy service to the national interest."
As a result of the program’s success, investors have lined up to take advantage of the opportunity to receive Lawful Permanent Residence and ultimately gain U.S. citizenship. “Over the last several years the program has been so successful that the number of approved investors has exceeded the annual limit,” Kraft states. While the majority of investors come from China and are currently experiencing a backlog, there are immediate Visa’s available for all other countries. Kraft believes that it is only a matter of time before other parts of the world will follow China in the pursuit of the American Dream.
