Your recent coverage of this (EB-5) fiasco includes, “The subcontractors who built the resort are owed millions and, as Quiros’s assets have been frozen, may not be paid until the resort has changed hands” (“Jay, Burke resorts to be sold separately,” July 20).
A simple question, why not unfreeze Quiros’ assets and pay the subcontractors with them? If it turns out that Quiros is held to have done nothing wrong, then he can proceed against the subs for his money back. There is no good reason the subs and what they are owed have to held hostage.
