Burke Mountain Hotel is set to open earlier than expected.
Michael Goldberg, the SEC receiver, says the resort will open September 1st.
He says there will be soft openings in August towards the beginning of the school year.
In April, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission announced it is freezing assets at the Burke Hotel and Conference Center.
The SEC says that the ski resort and related businesses misused millions of dollars raised through investments under the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program.
At a press conference in April, Michael Goldberg announced Burke Mountain would open towards the end of the year.
