Chinese Ambassador Consul General Liu Jian Visits SolarMax Technology Inc.
On Tuesday June 10th The Chinese Consul General Liu Jian and members of the CEO Club Board visited SolarMax Technology in Riverside, Ca. The purpose of the visit was to see firsthand how businesses that have relocated to the City of Riverside have prospered. By leveraging the local human capital as well as the centralized location relative to Southern California, SolarMax Technology has grown their employee base by 175% in the last twelve months.
Consul General Liu Jian's visit to SolarMax included a red carpet arrival and warm welcome to the City of Riverside by Mayor Rusty Bailey, members of his staff and the executive staff of SolarMax. The group was then given a tour of SolarMax's newly renovated historic headquarters facility guided by CEO David Hsu. A highlight of the tour was an impromptu table tennis match in the employee gym urged on by EVP Ching Liu. "Diplomacy through ping pong" was what Mayor Bailey called it as he served the ball to Consul General Liu Jian. Members of the group proceeded to take turns in rally.
After the tour, the group proceeded to the Victoria Club for a lunch meeting where CEO David Hsu introduced the guests. Mayor Bailey, who recently returned from a diplomatic trip to China spoke about his trip and the potential for further foreign investment into local businesses in Riverside. Consul General Liu Jian was the final speaker at the lunch meeting and reminded the guests of the recent 35th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and the United States. Since that time, trade has increased over 200 times and U.S. exports to China have increased nearly 70 times. Mr. Jian stated, "These achievements could not be achieved without the hard work and efforts of each of you. So we should say with certainty that in the coming 35 years, China and U.S economic cooperations will have a broader presence that will lead us both to continue to thrive."
