Accountability has certainly become the slippery slope
When did out become in and down become up in this upside down and inside out world we now know as “alternative facts”? How in the world would the wealthy immigrants buying visas by investing in South Dakota be in harms way if they bought their visa and then the money taken from them by the state of South Dakota gets used, however leadership oversees that use, then at the end of the day when it is misused South Dakota leadership would not be the ones in harms way?
Accountability has certainly become the slippery slope. It used to be that the slippery slope would be a series of decisions toward unethical behavior, and that if held accountable for there would be a price to pay.
In my opinion the federal immigration agency should not reconsider its decision on the EB-5 program. It equals no more than a slap on the hand as it is. The state of South Dakota should want everyone held accountable for everything that happened relating to the EB-5 program with a more thorough and transparent investigation of what happened.
When I moved to South Dakota it seemed like all I heard about in relationship to the difference between the white people and the Indian people was about who was accountable and who wasn’t. It was a curiosity to me then and it is even more now!
