1000 F involves the redevelopment and construction of a 100,000-square-foot, 11-story building in Washington, D.C. It is a mixed-use development, including office space, ground floor retail, and below-grade parking. Fashion retailer, American Eagle, has already signed a ten-year lease for the entire retail space. This project is located in Northwest Washington, D.C.’s Chinatown neighborhood. Due to its close proximity to the monuments and other tourist attractions, Chinatown is extremely well-serviced by public transportation, with multiple different bus and metro lines located throughout the area. 1000 F is steps away from major D.C. landmarks, including the Smithsonian museums, the International Spy Museum, and the famous Ford’s Theatre. The developer of this project, Douglas Development Corporation, is one of the most dominant and successful real estate developers in the D.C. metro area, with a current portfolio of nearly nine million leasable square feet. Construction for this project started in Quarter 4 of 2014, and is expected to be completed in approximately 21 months.
