Project Description

Steelpointe is situated on the finest deep-water harbor heading north from New York City in the wealthiest county in the U.S. Its prominent location makes it uniquely accessible—bounded by Interstate-95 (the most heavily traveled Interstate), Metro North Railroad, Amtrak, and the Long Island ferry. At the same time, the site lends itself to being a self-contained spectacular waterfront enclave, able to achieve destination character and ambiance in its own right.

Steelpointe Marina will be an urban, transit oriented, mixed-use development, which will function as a neighborhood in itself including a marina, retail, office, residential, recreation, and dining elements. It will be laid out to take full advantage of the adjacent intermodal transportation hub and to create a pedestrian destination that fulfills the goals and ambitions of the Bridgeport Master Plan of Development.
The EB-5 Project consists of site work and infrastructure required to realize the vision of the Master Plan, including the construction of a 150,000 square foot building for nationally respected Bass Pro Shops—an important anchor tenant and an extraordinary destination that nationally out draws Disney.
After investing tens of millions of dollars during the past decade to fully prepare the site for development, the Christophs have secured an unprecedented level of federal, state, and city support for this project: an $11 federal grant (now under construction), $192 million in state authorized District Bonding, and $3 million of a city grant.
