Project Description

Invest L.A. Regional Center, LLC and an experienced developer will co-develop a dual brand hotel featuring a Marriott Courtyard hotel and a Residence Inn. The unmatched waterfront setting will allow everyone to rest, dine or simply people-watch, all while enjoying the magnificent views of the marina. The project has been approved by Marriott for a Courtyard and Residence Inn franchise and has paid the franchise deposit. 
Total costs are estimated to be around $70 million or approximately $243,000 per key. This project is projected to generate $40 million revenue and extra jobs for Marina Del Rey in 10 years. 
 

  • Site total Sq. Ft.:3.66 Acre (around 14,812 m2)
  • Building total Sq. Ft.:247,975 Sq. Ft. (around 23,038 m2) 
  • A 288-room dual brand hotel: a 159-room four-story wing above on the south side housing the Courtyard Hotel and a 129-room five-story wing on the north side housing the Residence Inn 
  • A 28-foot-wide fully improved and amenitized Pedestrian Promenade between the marina and the hotel Subterranean parking for 198 cars and 18 additional ground level spaces 
  • Conference space totaling approximately 4,000 square feet and a Bistro Restaurant and bar area of approximately 2,700 square feet 
  • Approximately 4,700 square feet of terrace space on the ground level overlooking the marina 
  • Fitness center and outdoor pool and spa located on the second level terrace above the lobby and overlooking the marina 
  • A 1.6 acre wetlands park will be built as part of the development on the western portion of the development site 
  • Eight transient boat slips to be developed in front of the hotel will create public access to the property from the marina

Project Timeline

Development schedule calls for all required approvals by the end of 2014 or early 2015. Completion of the hotel construction is scheduled for mid 2017
