Project Description

Hydroponics is a technology for growing plants and fresh produce using mineral nutrient solutions (water containing plant nutrients). The liquid nutrient is then circulated around to the plant roots.

Hydroponics has great advantages over traditional farming.

  • It uses only one tenth the water of traditional farming
  • The produce is more nutritious, better tasting and better looking
  • Using hydroponics, plants grow faster and with greater yields
  • The need for pesticides is eliminated, as most pests live in the soil

A hydroponic facility can be built anywhere, and is an environment that is designed to enhance the growing process by controlling light, water, and plant nutrition.
