Act 84 of July 9, 2014 created the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Regional Center Corporation as a corporation affiliated with the Department of Economic Development and Commerce, with the purpose stimulating the economy by attracting foreign investment and creating additional jobs in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
