The American Legal Center, the top immigration consultancy firm in Dubai, is hosting an EB-5 summit on September 12, 2022, with top regional centers and attorneys in the EB-5 industry in attendance to discuss pertinent issues related to the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program. As an active think tank center in Dubai, The American Legal Center regularly participates in and hosts seminars and summits in order to encourage discourse surrounding the EB-5 program to both educate the Middle East market and engage in policy discussions to improve the program for its participants and prospective applicants.
The EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program is the investment immigration program of the United States. Created by the U.S. Congress in 1990, the EB-5 program allows foreign investors to qualify for immigration benefits through an investment of $800,000 in a new commercial enterprise in the United States. The EB-5 program allows the petitioner along with the petitioner’s spouse and children under 21 years of age to obtain U.S. Green Cards, with which they can freely live and work in the United States. Since its inception in 1992, the EB-5 Regional Center Program, which permits investors to pool their funds under the sponsorship of a regional center and take advantage of indirect job creation and passive investment, has been the most popular route through which investors participate in the EB-5 program.
With the passage of the EB-5 Reform and Integrity Act (RIA) in March 2022, the EB-5 Regional Center Program has undergone positive changes and is now more appealing to families looking to migrate to the U.S. through the EB-5 program. The RIA reauthorized the EB-5 Regional Center Program through 2027 and this long-term extension provides security for investors in knowing that the program will remain active and stable for the foreseeable future.
The American Legal Center, at the direction of its Legal Director and Founder, Shai Zamanian, is hosting an EB-5 summit from Sunday, September 11 to Monday, September 12, at their offices in Downtown Dubai. At this upcoming EB-5 summit, The American Legal Center has invited one of the top six regional centers in the United States to attend and discuss their active projects and the effects of the RIA on their operations.
Additionally, The American Legal Center has invited the attorneys responsible for successfully suing the U.S. government in relation to President Trump’s EB-5 regulations implemented back in 2019 as well as the U.S. immigration office’s interpretation of the RIA and the relevant settlement agreement which was successfully approved by a U.S. court last month. The team of U.S. licensed lawyers at The American Legal Center along with their guests in attendance will be discussing and paving the path for EB-5 in the Middle East.
