Mr. Hawker is a Managing Director and is responsible for leading business development, new ventures, channel/HNI management and capital raising activities globally, as well as investor relations. He also supports the firms overall governance internationally.

Prior to joining LCR, Carlos served as an Executive Director of HSBC’s Commercial Bank in Latin America being a member of several executive committees. At HSBC Carlos was responsible for advising the Commercial Bank’s leadership in Brazil and broader Latin America on regulatory, compliance and risk related matters as well as implementing the governance and operational framework necessary for assuring corporate clients were selected and exited efficiently from a commercial, strategic, credit, sustainability, reputational and risk perspective.

Previously Carlos was a senior member of BlackRock´s Americas Corporate Operations team leading regulatory initiatives within Latin America and Iberia. Carlos was responsible for aligning the compliance, risk, operational, strategy and governance models to industry standards and regulatory needs as well as supporting key global regulatory, operations, technology and infrastructure initiatives.

Prior to joining BlackRock, Carlos served as an Associate Director at World Monitors Inc. in New York (affiliated to Wiggin and Dana LLP), providing advice for financial institutions and corporations in risk prevention strategies and responsible business practices. In this role he was also involved in the development and maintenance of corporate governance and conflict prevention programs for US and Latin America based companies.

Additionally, Carlos was the Executive Manager of the International Department of BGC Liquidez brokerage in Latin America (BGC Partners) and managed sales trading and operations focused on Brazil, US and European markets with additional responsibility for business development, strategic partnerships and acquisitions focused on expanding the brokerage business’s footprint internationally.

In addition to Carlos’s background in financial services, Carlos also possesses several years of private law firm experience both as Senior Of Counsel and Partner focusing on corporate, securities law and human rights and is on the advisory board of Osklen’s E Institute (affiliated to UNESCO/WWF) giving advice on human sustainable development through increasing awareness of matters involving earth, environment, economics, energy, education and empowerment leveraging the apparel industry.

Carlos holds law degrees from both UCAM (LL.B, Post Graduate and Masters in Corporate and Tax law) and Fordham University School of Law in New York from which he graduated with a Masters’ degree in Banking, Corporate and Finance. He also holds a Certificate in Negotiation and Leadership for Senior Executives from Harvard Law School. Mr. Hawker is a member of Fordham Law School’s Dean’s planning Council and Advisory Board in Compliance and also a board member of the British American Business Council in Miami.
