TEA Sneak Peek Map for 2018 Released

"Will my project still qualify as a TEA after new data is finalized this spring?" Get ready for the annual data update with the TEA Sneak Peek Map. Last year we introduced our “Sneak Peek” map, allowing you to see the best approximation of the annual revisions to census tract unemployment data - and we've updated it for this year (full release post).

For now, the TEA rules are still the same as they were last year. So, while we should all continue to keep an eye on possible reforms, it's also important to remember to look ahead at the new data that will be finalized soon for TEAs under the current definitions. See the Sneak Peek map for preliminary unemployment rates for census tracts, reflective of the most up-to-date data available at this time. Unemployment rates from calendar year 2017 will start being used by the states in the coming months to determine TEA eligibility for projects submitted later this year (assuming no changes to the program).
