MSNBC and NBC News Anchor Richard Liu gave the commencement address at the University of Guam fall commencement ceremony on December 20.
Liu, is a first-generation American and has been named by Business Insider as one of 21 dynamic careers to watch alongside Warren Buffett and Mark Cuban. Liu told graduates of the University no matter what your background your story is important to the USA.
He also talked about the uniqueness of Guam, the US territory that known as “America in Asia” because of its geographic proximity to the nations of Asia and Southeast Asia.
“You are that furthest point to the west, the closest US door to Asia…You are part of the US and part of Asia at the same time. You are the bridge to spaces far and wide like no other place in the United States,” he stated.
