BIO

Steve Trow has been the CEO of Trow & Rahal since the law firm was founded in 1993.

He has practiced immigration and nationality law since 1980, focusing his practice exclusively on this field since 1989. From 1978 to 1989 he worked in the Washington, DC office of a major New York law firm handling corporate finance and federal regulatory matters.

Steve received his J.D. degree, with honors, in 1978 from Cornell Law School, where he served on the Board of Editors of the Cornell Law Review. He earned his B.A. degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado in 1975.

Steve’s reputation within the legal community has led to selection by his peers for inclusion in several prestigious publications, including The Best Lawyers in America, the Legal Elite Readers Poll of SmartCEO magazine, Washingtonian Magazine’s “Top Lawyers,” the International Who’s Who of Business Immigration Lawyers, and the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.

Steve is a founding member of the Academy of Business Immigration Lawyers (www.abil.com), which has over 200 immigration attorneys in 30 major cities worldwide. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the British American Business Association in Washington, DC. Steve served for seven years on the Legal Advisory Board of the Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights Coalition (CAIR Coalition) a non-profit organization in Washington, DC. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the American Bar Association, and the District of Columbia Bar.

Steve is a frequent speaker on U.S. immigration and citizenship issues, particularly as they intersect with U.S. tax law. His speaking engagements include the New York State Bar Association’s International Estate Planning Institute, the Practising Law Institute’s International Tax & Estate Planning Conference, the Wealth Management & Family Office Conference in Zurich, Switzerland, and the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners.
