STEVEN N. GARMO (November 26, 1961 - June 11, 2014) was the original founder of Garmo Law Group, PLLC. where he specialized in U.S. Immigration Law. Steven practiced Immigration Law for over 25 years. He was selected as the 2010 Michigan Super Lawyers. He held a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Detroit School of Law, a Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) in History from the University of Michigan, and an Associates of Science Degree (A.S.) in Computer Science from Detroit College of Business.
Steven was an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) since 1989. Steven was a frequent speaker on immigration related issues. He previously hosted a weekly TV and Radio program titled “Immigration Today”. He has conducted immigration seminars all over the world including South America, Africa, Asia and Europe.
He has also published extensively both in English and Arabic, various articles relating to U.S. immigration law. Steven previously authored the articles on the Visa Processing guide for the American Embassy in Amman, Jordan, Baghdad, Iraq and Damascus, Syria for the Visa Processing Guide published by the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
As an Immigration Attorney, Mr. Garmo handled all types of immigration related matters including Business, Investment, and Student, Visa Processing, Waivers, Family Visas and Naturalization issues. In June of 2014, Steven N. Garmo passed away but his name and legacy continue to drive the firm's values and ethics to this day.
