Jason Barnes
Jason T. Barnes is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Vissero Partners, LLC, was a co-founder and former Chairman of Civitas Capital Management, LLC, and has been a Partner in multiple national law firms based in Dallas. Throughout his career,Jason has practiced as a finance and corporate attorney counseling domestic and foreign financial institutions, business development companies, private and public investment funds, investment managers, advisers and principals, and high net worth individuals in a wide variety of transactions, including senior and subordinated debt and equity financings, common and preferred stock and other equity investments, private placements, public offerings, cash flow and asset-based lending, structured finance, and syndicated financings and participations. Jason also assists a full spectrum of clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, workouts, bankruptcies, and general corporate matters.
Jason’s legal and corporate experience covers over 250 transactions involving over $30 billion in transaction value, and clients with assets ranging from $10 million to $40 billion. He works with domestic and off-shore entities as a general matter, as well as mainstream banks, private funds, subordinated debt and mezzanine funds, venture capital funds, hedge funds, business development companies (BDCs), and Small Business Investment Companies (SBICs).
Since 2006 Jason has also been a prominent thought leader in the EB-5 community, having for many years focused on foreign direct investment generally, and also specifically on the investments made by private individuals in the context of achieving certain immigration status in the U.S.
Jason earned his Juris Doctor from the Emory University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science in economics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
