Shelby Scarbrough is an internationally recognized speaker, author, strategic advisor, entrepreneur, event director and super connector whose clients and projects have taken her around the globe again and again.
Her client list includes Heads of State, Government leaders and many iconic global figures. From the Vatican to Buckingham Palace to The White House, Shelby’s leadership in international protocol earned her a reputation of excellence in building cross cultural, global relationships. She brings people together to form uncommon bonds and accomplish great things.
In 2006, she was elected to serve as Global Board President of The Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), the premiere organization for entrepreneurs with more than 12,000 members worldwide. Circumnavigating the globe as EO’s ambassador allowed her to do what she loves most — use her expansive network to connect business owners for the good of the whole.
As an outgrowth of her experiences as a judge for the Rice University Business Plan Competition, she cofounded nCourage entrepreneurs, a private, angel investor group providing funding to early-stage concepts.
Her expertise in serving high profile clients began early as a political appointee under President Ronald Reagan, first in The White House, Office of Presidential Advance then as a Protocol Officer at The U.S. Department of State and later Director of Advance for the Secretary of Energy under President George H.W. Bush.
Throughout her career, Scarbrough worked with such notable figures as: His Holiness, Pope John Paul II, Presidents Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Richard Nixon, President Walesa of Poland, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and members of the Royal Family, Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and Nelson Mandela and US Supreme Courts Justices Stephen Breyer and Sandra Day O’Connor.
Upon President Reagan’s death, she served as Deputy Lead Advance in Washington, DC for the State Funeral of President Reagan.
A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Shelby graduated from UCLA with a BA in English and is in the Owner President Managed (OPM) Program of the Harvard Business School. When she is not out connecting people with resources and ideas, you can find her in Washington, DC or in northern California.
