Charles Medlin was born in Odessa, Texas where he graduated from high school. Later graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. He then attended and graduated from the University of Houston Bates School Of Law.
Mr. Medlin worked his way through college doing a variety of jobs. He drove a variety of trucks. He delivered medical supplies. He fried chicken at night. He worked construction. He managed a coop. In law school, his wife, Joyce, helped to support them. After his first year in law school, he worked 30 hours a week for a criminal law defense firm for two years. He was a clerk, a researcher, and a legal assistant.
After law school, Mr. Medlin worked for a lawyer for about 6 months; he then opened his own office. He has had his own office ever since. Mr. Medlin has handled almost every kind of criminal case known: counterfeiting, Medicare fraud, rape, robbery, murder, theft, embezzlement, and all kinds of drug offenses, assault, DWI, copyright theft, international criminal law, and even the crime of impersonating a nurse. Mr. Medlin has handled state and federal cases in Maine, Michigan, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Ohio, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Texas.
Mr. Medlin is licensed in the State of Texas including all federal districts in Texas, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
He has a sound professional relationship with both state and federal prosecutors and judges. Mr. Medlin is well regarded by his peers.
