Jeremy L. McKinney practices exclusively in the area of Immigration and Naturalization and is a North Carolina Board Certified Immigration Law Specialist. Mr. McKinney is the current Chair of AILA’s ICE liaison committee. He has previously taught Immigration Law at Elon University School of Law as an Adjunct Professor, and served on the North Carolina State Bar’s Specialization Committee.
He has previously litigated Immigration matters before the Board of Immigration Appeals, USCIS Administrative Appeals Office, Federal District Courts in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, and Courts of Appeal in Richmond, Virginia, Atlanta, Georgia, and Chicago, Illinois.
Mr. McKinney graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1993 and later received his Juris Doctorate from Campbell University School of Law in 1996. He is a former Captain and Judge Advocate in the North Carolina Army National Guard and, in 2003, was deployed to the Middle East in connection with the Iraq War.
