Seth has over 30 years’ experience as a Turnaround Manager, Restructuring and Insolvency professional with extensive experience serving in the role of Chief Restructuring Officer, receiver, assignee, replacement General Partner or LLC Manager and has been appointed by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court as Financial Advisor in Chapter 11 cases.  He is a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA) [see https://www.aira.org/cira]  Seth also provides litigation support performing forensic and operational due diligence and examinations, expert witness and fraud recovery.  He has provided crisis communications strategy advice to troubled operators and boards.  We have a Hong Kong subsidiary with Mandarin speaking senior management located in Hong Kong and Shenzhen to assist local investors, legal counsel and agents.

Seth has extensive experience in all phases of the real estate investment and development business. He has been continuously licensed by the California Department since 1984 and also holds a California General Contractor License. 

Seth R. Freeman was previously the CEO and co-founder of EM Capital Management, a global proprietary investor, investment manager and consulting firm specializing in emerging and frontier markets and cross-border restructuring and insolvency. He is a Certified Insolvency & Restructuring Advisor (CIRA) granted by AIRA with extensive U.S. and cross-border experience. He is qualified to be appointed by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court as restructuring or financial advisor.

​Seth is a cross-cultural serial entrepreneur with over 35 years of broad experience as initiator/leader and/or team member of complex buy-outs, distressed asset management and dispositions, business start-ups, real estate projects, private equity investments and organizer and senior portfolio manager of a 40 Act India-focused  mutual fund.  

His skills and expertise includes deal origination, structuring and financing, quantitative analysis, due diligence, global regulation and tax, operational and financial improvement, restructuring and insolvency. 

Seth has substantial investment and consulting experience in U.S., India, China and Latin America. He has organized a 40 Act mutual fund and several private funds. 

Seth is a frequent contributor on business news television channels such as Bloomberg TV, CNBC, CNBC Awaaz, NDTV-Profit, ET Now (Reuters India) and publications such as Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Reuters and business press in India. He is a frequent speaker at professional conferences and MBA programs at Wharton, Harvard, University of Chicago Booth, NYU Stern, Thunderbird, Columbia, UC Berkeley Haas and Georgetown.
