Gary Gutterman joined HAP Investments from Met Council on Jewish Poverty, where he served as Chief Housing Officer. In his new role at HAP, Mr. Gutterman develops ground-up affordable housing for low- and moderate-income households. At Met Council he led a team that created 1,500 units of special needs housing as well as a state-of-the-art licensed assisted living facility. He previously served as the Director of the New York State Affordable Housing Corporation, the General Manager of Brooklyn Ecumenical Cooperatives, New Communities and the Deputy Director of Tax Incentives for the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development. Mr. Gutterman is responsible for obtaining the financing, overseeing the construction, marketing, and management of HAP’s affordable residences. Mr. Gutterman holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Urban Planning from the University of Wisconsin.
