Estelle McKee teaches first-year lawyering. 

Following her graduation from Columbia Law School, she spent two years as a Pro Se Law Clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. After her clerkship, Estelle litigated as a staff attorney for Catawba Valley Legal Services, a North Carolina organization which represents rural, low-income clients in areas of employment, income maintenance, housing, family, immigration (Violence Against Women Act petitions), and consumer law. She also engaged in appellate and habeas practice for the Virginia Capital Representation Resource Center and worked as an immigration attorney for Lawler & Lawler in San Francisco, where she specialized in preparing EB-5 regional center applications to accept foreign investment and create jobs in the United States. 

Professor McKee previously taught legal writing at Cornell Law School (2000-2006) and at the University of Wisconsin Law School (2006-2007). She is an assistant editor of Immigration Options for Investors & Entrepreneurs, in which she also authored two articles. She has published in Bender’s Immigration Bulletin and the legal treatise Immigration Law & Procedure. Professor McKee is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the California and North Carolina bars.
