Rebecca is an experienced attorney with Mona Shah & Associates.

As an advanced EB-5 practitioner,Rebecca works with project developers, analyzing, crafting and preparing project documents for initial regional center designations,including hypothetical or exemplar projects, as well as actual project or amendment filings. In addition, Rebecca handles direct EB-5 project petitions, both pooled investments and individual entrepreneurs and I-829 petitions. Rebecca is well versed in USCIS compliance.

Rebecca is highly proficient at investor petitions, counseling clients through all stages of the EB-5 Immigrant Investment Program. She has successfully filed complex source of funds issues from clients worldwide.

In addition, Rebeccahandles the firms EOIR and Appellate issues, including litigation before the Circuit Court, representation in EOIR litigation – deportation and removal proceedings – asylum, cancellation of removal, and prosecutorial discretioncases, as well as family-based cases and employment visas, such as H1-Bs, intracompany transferees (L visas), and treaty traders/investors (E visas).  She has represented DACA clients, and has experience working with the FBI and government attorneys to assist clients with criminal convictions.

Further, Rebecca is well-versed in consular affairs and adjustment of status cases, handling issues such as consular waivers, problematic “Age Out” issues, international adoption law, and non-immigrant and immigrant visa applications.

Rebecca is also responsible for the firm’s monthly newsletters, regularly updating the firm’s blog and assisting in other publications.

Rebecca is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. She is a 2010 graduate of Florida Coastal School of Law (FCSL), where she received her Juris Doctorate degree and International and Comparative Law Certificate. While at FCSL, Rebecca received the Book Award for the highest grade in Legal Research and Writing, and was on the Dean’s List. In 2009, Rebecca was selected as a brief writer for the prestigious Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. Proud to be a Hokie, Rebecca graduated from Virginia Tech in 2007, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, minoring in History, and magna cum laude honors.

Rebecca is a member of American Immigration Lawyers Association, Invest in the USA, American Bar Association, and South Asian Bar Association of New York. She speaks English and basic Spanish.
