Rob has a distinct advantage when it comes to global business development having lived in Beijing, China for more than a decade working in international investment and capital raising. As an executive business leader, investment consultant, and venture capitalist, Rob successfully negotiated over $1 billion in M&A, joint ventures, and private equity capital raises. He has reviewed, vetted and executed on a wide range of international business development opportunities.
In 2014, Rob joined the Dargey family as Vice President of Capital Investments. In this role, Rob applies his expansive knowledge, financial aptitude and negotiation skills to raise equity for projects, identify new business development opportunities, and maximize value for all of the firm’s investors and strategic partners. He also conducts complex financial analyses for the organization.
Both bilingual (English / Mandarin Chinese) and bicultural, Rob is well-versed in building relationships and facilitating complex negotiations with Western and Chinese clients, colleagues and project stakeholders.
His expertise crosses many industry sectors including real estate, mining and oil & gas, manufacturing and high-tech. Rob has also worked within the media sector, as a television host for a daily program on a Chinese national TV station.
Rob holds a B.A. in international relations from Vanderbilt University, and completed graduate work in Chinese economics, trade and foreign investment at the John Hopkins Center for Chinese and American Studies.
