Jennifer Liu
Jessica earned her B.A., magna cum laude, in Political Science and Legal Studies from the University of Tennessee and her Law degree from Santa Clara University. Well before earning her J.D., Jessica Knew she wanted to be a litigator in family law. By the time she graduated and was admitted to practice law in the State of Nevada as a member of the state bar, she had already logged endless hours in the courtroom working as a Certified Law Student for the Pro Bono Project of Silicon Valley. There she represented low-income clients in domestic violence cases by obtaining restraining orders and custody arrangements as well as working with clients on divorce, custody and support cases. Prior to that Jessica honed her legal and procedural knowledge when she worked for the Santa Clara County Family law facilitators office in the self-help clinic and restraining order help center. At the beginning of law school, Jessica also clerked for the Honorable Socrates P. Manoukian, in the California Superior Court for Santa Clara County, Criminal Division. While there she assisted with research and Habeas Corpus Petitions in which one resulted in a new trial for an inmate. Jessica also worked for a Prestigious Washington, D.C. based antitrust law firm during her summer break while competeing her undergraduate degree.
Post-graduation Jessica worked in the areas of tax law and took a job as in house counsel for a small Las Vegas based company. Although, Jessica has experience in many areas of the law, she desired to return to her passion of practicing law. Thus, she founded her own law firm to follow her passion. In founding the Liu Law Firm, Jessica has continued to use her free time and has made it a priority to continue work with pro bono litigants through her work with local non-profit legal organizations.
