Joe Tagliaferro III brings a wealth of legal and financial advisory expertise to CKR clients. He has prior practical experience as a foreign currency trader, and a Financial Industry Regulatory Association (formerly known as the National Association of Securities Dealers) Registered Representative. As a practicing attorney, Joe concentrates in the areas of corporate finance, private investment fund formation and compliance, asset management and broker-dealer formation and compliance, mergers and acquisitions and white collar criminal defense, government and internal investigations.
Prior to joining CKR, Joe was a founding partner of Tagliaferro & LoPresti, LLP, a boutique law firm focused on corporate capital formation and financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, SEC compliance and cross-border transactions. Before founding Tagliaferro & LoPresti, he served as Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs of Elephant Systems, Inc., a Los Angeles-based venture capital incubator firm. As an entrepreneur as well as an accomplished attorney, Joe also co-founded in 2000 a fashion design and consulting firm that owns and operates a chain of retail clothing boutiques in Santa Monica, California.
Joe earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Villanova University, and his J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, CA.
A member of the Bar of the State of California, he is admitted to practice in the Central District of California.
