The law firm’s founding attorney, Laura Edgerton, established Edgerton Immigration Law to provide a different type of immigration service to our clients. You do not believe your case or your business is a commodity and neither do we. We believe that every client and situation is unique. Our law firm prides itself on providing expertise, individual attention, and exceptional client service to each matter. We stand out because we combine the large firm experience and sophistication that many businesses want from their immigration lawyers with the friendliness, flexibility, personal attention and reasonable fees of a small firm.

We are also extremely pleased that our firm received a Raleigh Metropolitan First Tier Ranking for Immigration Law in the inaugural 2010 "Best Law Firms" rankings by the U.S. News Media Group and Best Lawyers®, which is an honor that was repeated in the 2011 and 2014 rankings.

With almost twenty years of immigration experience, recognition in The Best Lawyers in America® andNorth Carolina Super Lawyers® magazine, and leadership roles in the American Immigration Lawyers Association, our founder Laura Edgerton is an experienced immigration lawyer who understands the immigration needs of companies and enjoys working with businesses of all sizes.  We take particular pride in helping entrepreneurs, investors, emerging businesses, and multinational companies entering the U.S. market to grow and succeed by obtaining the work visas and permanent resident status they need for their key employees.

Ms. Edgerton is also delighted to have worked with some of the brightest and most innovative researchers, scientists, business people and academics from around the world, as well as Olympic athletes and coaches, Emmy and Academy Award winners, and performers, in securing permanent residence through the extraordinary ability (EB-1 and O-1 Extraordinary Ability Visa), outstanding researcher (EB-1 Outstanding Researcher Visa), and national interest waiver categories.
