Munsch Hardt was founded on April 15, 1985 by six young attorneys who believed they could create a better type of law firm. From our humble beginnings, we've grown to a ​​​dynamic and successful firm serving clients across Texas and around the globe. Rick Kopf, Russ Munsch​ and Steve Harr​ joined Dan Decker, Joe Hardt, and John Dinan to create our firm. During the following decade Dan, Joe and John went on to In-house and C-level positions with clients and still remain good friends to the firm. Rick, Steve and Russ continued to pursue their vision and grew the firm to our current prominence with more than 115 attorneys in three markets.​

In January 1996, we launched our Austin office to serve the needs of that vibrant market. In August 2004, we further expanded our presence with our Houston office, which continue​​​​s to grow in response to the dynamic Houston economy.

​In addition to our geographic expansion, our practice area growth has been significant. Even though the firm initially started out with the basic corporate, litigation, real estate and bankruptcy practice areas, our founding partners envisioned a full-service commercial law firm to better serve the needs of our clients. Today, we offer a wide range of services to ​our clients and industries. We believe our long-term success results from our unwavering commitment to the core values instilled at our founding.
