A New Mixed Used Luxury Housing Development In EaDo Community

With new infrastructural and design improvements, the announcement of new projects, and the City View Terrace project, East Downtown Houston continues to make progress.

New improvements are underway in East Downtown Houston (EaDo). The area is quickly improving with new projects, construction progress and other developments, including the City View Terrace project.

The most exciting development in EaDo is the announcement of the metro train progress. The metro train should be fully operational in EaDo by late April.

Capital infrastructural and design improvements are being made to the entire underground infrastructure, including class A streetscape, lighting, trees, sidewalk improvements, street furniture and benches. Construction will commence by the end of 2015.

A student housing project has been proposed for Cullen Street between Leland and I-45. Also a new bar and eatery has been announced on Hutchinson. Called "Across The Street Bar," the new pub will be located next to District 7 Grille.

East Downtown Development Authority is moving forward with Houston International Promenade to have a dog park put in the EaDo area, which EaDo residents have been requesting for over a year. Bicycle racks have also been installed in EaDo in an effort to perpetuate EaDo's goal of becoming more pedestrian-friendly.

"These are the hallmarks of a new community, a community that can sustain itself," said Kimberly Davis of Premier Regional Center, Abdul Dawood and Dan Nip are developing the City View Terrace project in EaDo. "Having mixed use developments to house growing communities and provide entrepreneurs places to develop and serve this growing community is what City View Terrace is all about."
