Sorensen joins Arcis Capital

Arcis Capital Partners said Tuesday that Steven Sorensen has joined the boutique advisory firm as a partner. Previously, Sorensen was International Operations Vice President of Manhattan Regional Center.

Arcis Capital Partners LLC (“ArcisCap”) is a boutique advisory firm specializing in cross-border private equity, real estate, EB-5 and M&A transactions between China and the US. ArcisCap has offices in New York and Hong Kong and plans to have an office in mainland China soon.

“We are delighted to have Steven join our core partner team. His extensive experience of China/US cross-border business and investments will significantly add to ArcisCap’s capabilities,” said Afzal (“Al”) Tarar, the Founder & Managing Partner of AricsCap.

In addition to Steven and Al, ArcisCap’s core partner team includes Bruce Meyers, Raana I Khan and Suresh Sharma. More about Steven W Sorensen

Prior to joining Arcis, Steven was the International Operations Vice President of Manhattan Regional Center for over five years. There he led or participated in over $300 million in EB-5 project financing for a portfolio of projects in hotel, health-care and entertainment related real estate projects.

In addition to real estate, he has consulted with various New York hedge funds, fund of funds and family offices on raising capital from institutions and high net worth individuals from China.

Steven lived in Shanghai and Hong Kong, between 2003 and 2010. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. Steven has a BA in English from John Carroll University, and an MA in English Studies from The University of Hong Kong. He also did intensive training in financial modeling and investment banking in New York. In 2010, he completed his M.Phil. thesis: “How the US Responds to China’s Rise” which examined US-China economic, trade and diplomatic relations since China’s entry to the WTO in 2001.

Steven has studied business at NYU, and he maintains a strong network in the PE/VC and startup communities at Columbia, Harvard and MIT. Since 2014, Steven has served on the advisory board of Rocketstar LLC.
