Matthew heads up the Firm’s Litigation Department. Matthew started his career as a litigation attorney with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and served as a law clerk to Judge Carmen B. Ciparick of New York’s high court, the New York State Court of Appeals. Matthew was a partner for more than ten years with New York litigation law firm Shapiro Forman Allen & Sava LLP. Prior to joining Reid & Wise, Matthew was General Counsel of Afa Dispensing Group, an international product-development and manufacturing company with operations in China, Europe and North America.
Matthew specializes in complex commercial disputes, investment disputes, securities litigation, cross-border disputes, class actions, international arbitrations, intellectual property disputes, employment suits, and internal company investigations. Matthew has been involved in some of the most high-profile matters over the past twenty years. He approaches each case with an objective appraisal of the facts and law, and tailors the litigation strategy to minimize costs and to maximize the client’s interests.
Matthew is also a Certified Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), the certification awarded by the International Association of Privacy Professionals to individuals exhibiting a mastery of privacy and data protection concepts and laws. In addition to his general litigation practice, Matthew litigates and advises clients on privacy, cybersecurity and data protection issues.
